An excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal to provide support to a team specialising in criminal defence and professional disciplinary law. The successful applicant will assist a partner and three qualified lawyers. The role will entail responsibility for the administration of the department as well the provision of paralegal support.
Applicants must have experience of working as a paralegal and a real interest in the area of law. They should be accomplished communicators; equally adept verbally in person/on the telephone and at drafting correspondence. They must be able to conduct effective legal research and have first-rate note taking skills. They should have a meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to their work and a ‘can do’ attitude.
The role will involve:-
- Attending meetings and court hearings
- Assisting in the drafting of legal documents
- Preparing bundles
- Lodging documents at court
- Legal research
- Factual research
- Proof reading
- Drafting
- Researching and drafting legal blogs and updates
- Preparation of invoices and processing of client transactions
- Ad hoc administrative tasks (including supporting the smooth operation of the office).
